For The Sake of...

There was a time,  when the mornings were bright, She ran across the room,  and dressed up in white, To head off to school,  with a cheerful smile, Just for the sake of, her future light. There was a time,  when the mornings were bright, She ran across the room,  she turned on the lights, To head off to college,  she smiled with delight, Just for the sake of, a future that's bright. There was a time,  when the mornings were bright, She woke up for the alarm, she sat upright, To head off to work, with an unreal smile, Just for the sake of, the need to survive. There was a time,  when the mornings were bright, She did not wake up,  she laid down and cried, To drain down her sorrows,  to think for a while, Just for the sake of, she don't know why. -Debra R. Unexplainable...

An angle from God, sent down to Earth, To the sinful man, who never knows his worth, That unfortunate man, who will never learn, Tortured that little mind, he piled up a curse. The baby hands, that played with water, Was trapped in a heart, not a rock, more harder, That innocent heart, blasted so louder, Than the sound heard, the day Krakatoa volcano erupted. The mighty ocean could not, control it's waters, The raging Earth, turned out to be warmer, They did tolerate, the place where the war were, But not that unfortunate night, a baby was tortured. The winds could not, tolerate the sound, They carried it to the skies, and beyond, God hears this cry, he looks to the ground, Honey he's always on time, he'll surely respond. Unexplainable tears, rolled down my eyes, I could not lift, my head to the skies, Cause across the seas, and miles apart, I heard a dreadful sound, of a breaking baby heart. -Debra R. N. Ludwick-...

My Only Hope...

Trapped between, the drought and the snow, My thoughts run fast, while my heart runs slow, The limits to be timid, I do not know, But that powerful spell, can be a simple hello. Waving my wand, to the sides, above and below, Whispering to my wand, cast the spell hello, My heart was lit, to see that little glow, With teary eyes I watched, it hide in the snow. Wiping my tears, now here we go, This time I'll be loud, a little bit more, My longing heart, saw that bright glow, In no time it went missing, with the sun's glow. This helpless heart, could not take it anymore, With no place to sit, on this confused floor, On one side I see, a burning cracked floor, The other side was filled with icy cold snow. Raising my eyes to the sky, in search of my only hope, With my teary eyes and a stuffy nose, Before a word, escaped to the winds that blow, I heard him say, relax, I know. -Debra R. N. Ludwick-

I Continued...

Looking through, the window inside, On this wonderful day, the sun is bright, Little birds sing, a joyful rhyme, A bride prepares, for her carriage ride, In between four walls, I continued to write. Children screamed, come quickly let's hide, By the tree he sat, for the shade they provide, Cheerful little girls, enjoyed the slide, Mom continued to say, "come eat your rice", In between four walls, I continued to rhyme. The silver fountain, standing tall outside, With the sun's rays, it had to shine, The birds dance, and sing inside, What a beautiful day, what a beautiful sight, In between four walls, I continued with a sigh. For understanding there was, a great big fight, To understand and forgive, was a great big crime, Living with regrets, is the lesson taught by life, In this crowded world, I could not cry, In between four walls, I continued to fake smile. -Debra R. She Ran for Her Life...

When the winds, had to reign, Blowing off, the peace and the trails, The night of fears, made her a slave, She ran for her life, and hid in the cave. The numbness, in her blue palms, Worsened like the, reigning storm, When the snow stood tall, like a wall, Blocking the entrance, making her crawl. The paleness, in her white face, Whitened like, the snowy cave, When she heard. the growl escape, The furious bear, oh he's awake. He's fur, was white like a swan, With teeth that's sharper, than a dog's, On her lips, was a sorrowful song, In her head, was unending wars, For a while she felt, her heart pause. No space to run, she crawled instead, With screams and cries, her tears she shed, She shut her eyes, she held her head, With the warm touch, she felt on her leg,  She opened her eyes, she's on her bed. -Debra R. The Untold Goodbyes...

To the sky, a gun was fired, A bird shot down, tangled on a wire, Bidding farewell, to the life he desired, He missed a beat, that the heart required. A frizzy worm fell, off his beak, A drizzle of hay, slipt from his feet, The flock flew away, with cries and screams, While baby bird in the nest, longed for his meal. That innocent soul, lifted into the skies, With desires, hopes, and  baby bird in mind, The skies absorbed, the sorrows with sighs, And mourns reigned, for an untold good bye. Tear drops escaped, the eyes of the sky, Rain drops fell, on the nest so fragile, Baby bird wondered, why isn't dad on time, Until the nest fell off, while his broken heart cried. Lying on, the muddy floor, Looking up, he saw a door, That opened wide, with a bright glow, With four wings spread wide, and a cheerful hello. A sweet chirp said, "come darling let's go", Another said "Dads with you, our little fellow",...
