I Want You To Learn Before It’s Too Late...

Waking up from my travel sleep, Staring at the moving trees, I shockingly saw through the windscreen, Oh no no, it’s us and not the trees. Coming out of my lazy sleep, I could not resist, but day dream, My mind ran back, just like the trees, Back to the past, where things were neat. I was then, much smaller and weak, I used to cry and stumble and weep, For no reason at all, now I see, I was small, I just had to breathe. I wish I knew it, when I was small, I wondered why, no one ever spoke up, Oh, I remember, I asked them to shut up, Not with my words, but with my work. Thinking of the past so mild, Honoring my face with a broad smile, Telling myself, those days were fun, Looking at the teens who run. You who own that sweet age, I know you own and run the stage, But let me have the mic for a while, Please don't frown, I want you to smile.
