The Chapters We Never Expected...

Chapters of life so unexpected,
In a split-second, each chapter contrasted,
Living in the past we never respected,
The book had a chapter we never expected.

Clueless we are how things got connected,
Were there hints in previous chapters, that we neglected?
This book so large with characters we have selected,
Lead us all to another chapter we never expected.

With bonds so strong we felt very protected,
The same old bonds we decided and disconnected,
Is this the fault of the characters we selected?
With no clue at all, we travel to a chapter we never expected.

When time was rough and we felt unprotected,
I know we all, tried so hard to be connected,
But we did not know, there have been poison injected,
Right before we entered the chapter we never expected.

In this chapter we feel so dejected,
Together let's recall the memories collected,
The book will be read with the chapters intended,
We like it or not, the pages will be turned to another chapter we never expected.

Whenever, to a new chapter I'm directed,
There are times I feel so unprotected,
At all those times my life is reminded,
My God's with me, in my life which is gifted,
With this in mind I fly through life's chapters we never expected.

Oh, Sweet Maiden!

A burning flame, Glaring at, the steaming lane, The land of all, massacred slaves, Ripped by love, the origin of fate. Oh, that land, the rose crammed bed, Jammed with laughs, and smiles unshed, Pure as the heart, of an infant at rest, Led by the God, of foul prospects. The enchanter, of the dark, To the illusion, of a delicate arch, With the maiden, of sweetness at heart, Stepped in to, a mirrored witchcraft. Swinging and swaying, the ballerina passionate, Sliding and leaping, the pianist considerate, Stumbling and collapsing, the maiden naïve and laid, Weeping and hollering, through the crack sorcery reigns. Maiden, sweet maiden, dumbstruck, betrayed, Threw fits at the mirrors, of the enchanted cave, Left at the wilderness, to wither and break, Oh, sweet maiden, Queen Insane. -Nataliya Ludwick- @thepoeticvoyage

Your Only Choice...

Looking at the clock, Trying hard to stop, The time that runs, With more to be done. Staring at the setting sun, The wind conveys, the night has begun, Fakely accepting, the praises that surrounds, With regrets about, the things undone. The curious eyes, started her chase, Girls with grins, running out of the gates, Guys crawled in, with their long face, Another hopped to shop, with the money he made. The doves flew towards their cage, Owls flew out, with their scary gaze, They all switched shifts, each and every day, For nature's company, isn't that great? When things take place, in unexpected ways, Good things take time, is what they say, Sorrow and joy, may join the same day, Life needs the company of patience, is what I say, In this life things may delay,  But your only choice is to stay. -Debra R. The Narrowing Stream...

When it was time, to be in my mother's reach, I would have welcomed the world, with my baby scream, With my mom and dad, I made my safety team, Oh how I longed, to complete all my vaccines, By that time, I've come all the way to my teens. From then to now, I longed to see, Myself on, the highest mountain peaks, My fears ranged, covering my path with steam, This mind haunted the nights, stealing my sleep, Forever I'm stuck, with these daily routines. How on Earth are these things worth it? To trade my joy, to trade my sleep, I scare my heart, in my mind I scream, When it comes to my life, I feel like a machine, Even they do stop, at their highest degrees. I long and long, forever in life's streets, With one in hand, to the next I reach, This is how the world goes, not only for me, This life on Earth is a narrowing stream, And this stream, seems to be based, on our dreams. -Debra R.
