They are on Their Way...

Wide awake, on a misty night, By the lake, where the waters slide, The monsters shake, the calm beehives, They are on their way, it's better to hide. The narrow lane, too hard to ride, A huge cave, there's no bright light, The monsters crave, for screams and cries, They are on their way, hurry up decide. Far away, where the people reside, A busy brain, striving hard to climb so high, The monsters ate, their time and smiles, They are on their way, how can I abide. By the lake, of this scary life, On a rock, of a thoughtful mind, In my heart, I sit to write, A rhyme about the bitter times, Caused by the monsters, hidden inside. -Debra R. N. Ludwick-

A Strange Thought...

In the midst, of this noisy world, On one end stands, a pretty girl, To the wind she adds, her gushing words, Her lips moves faster, than her curls. She's active, she's smart, she's cute and deserve, The praises and bouquets, they all gift her, Of course this is, the nature of the Earth, All that matters, is the beauty and words. Looking deep into, her eyes, I see, Her pretty smile, is a gift, from her teeth, To hide the frown in her heart, deep within,  There's also a tear, eagerly waiting, to take the lead. The empty mind, like a tar street, Just by the side, of a lonely beach, I see the waves, growing taller than the trees, Does she expect the bouquets, just to exists? With an uncertain thought, I'm sorry to disturb, The clear mind of yours, that continues to wander, In the world that says, grow out of old culture, I agree, it's true, but a bit of culture, still matters. In the midst, of this noisy wo...

It's Precious Thus Rare...

Unable to escape, from the world's snare, A stray mind runs, here and there, There's peace in the world, and here's your share, Together let's sit, and work, on your heart's repair. Look around, they'll never declare, The burden's they carry, they are aware, They'll never let you know, cause it's there's to bear, Instead you'll see, the fake smiles, they wear. In a closed room, they sit on a chair, They uncover their face, it's filled with despair, If only we could, sneak in, to hear their blare, But how can we sneak, into a heart's prayer? For sure in life, they do really care, On things left behind, that we are unaware, Just like you, they too would have prepared, For a second chance, that flew away in the air. I know this life, is so unfair, It's better to ignore than to compare, Let go off this life? Don't you dare, A second chance is precious, thus rare. -Debra R. ...

A Little Bit More...

Life has changed, unlike before, I'm on the skiff, I see the shore, In a distance exists, the bright glow, I'll soon be there, oh yes I know. The sea is rough, I better go slow, When the skiff starts, to weigh more, There's things I love, I'll have to throw, It hurts a lot, but the pain, I'll ignore. The cloudy skies, please look below, The things I love, I must let go, What's mine will swim, with my skiff to the shore, Please be kind, when you start to roar. Far away, behind the glow, I see a light, that glows a little bit more, My poor skiff, its scarce, I know, I'll build you up, stronger than before, If only I planned a little bit more. Looking back, at the things, I had to throw, A few of them, had started to follow, Knowing that, the others were forbidden to hold, I bid goodbye, with sorrows untold. Leaving this sight, I turned back to the shore, The eyes of my heart, looked back to mourn, ...

The Diamond Bead...

A long walk, on a tough street, Ancient shoes, there's no high heels, The tar streets, cracked for the heat, She had to walk, she burned her feet. That lonely night, not a wink of sleep, The day gone by, with work that exceeds, The mountain top's, tallest trees, How can she sleep? she had to weep. A deep dive, in the oceans deep, On a freezing night, with the stormy breeze, That drowns the ship, in the oceans deep, The water turned into ice, but she had to proceed.  In the woods she heard, the howls repeat, To her destiny she ran, from tree to tree, The fear, deep down in her heart, she buried, There's no other path, she had to sneak. The danger in the world, like a weed, Grown wild with sin, we all are weak, When the Earth is not safe, anymore, to proceed, Who else my friend, who else can succeed? She deserves praise, oh yes indeed, In a charcoal world, she's the diamond bead, Who had no choice, but to take...

It Matters...

Like sharp swords, that insulting mutter, Went through my heart,  for every word I shattered, Wondering who coated your heart with rubber, Oh helpless, yes hopeless I am,  I gobbled my supper. These eyes of mine, has  no difference to a gutter, That poured the water down,  on a rainy summer, "Why aren't anyone of you  brave enough to shut her?" Instead of that, I just said,  "pass me the butter". Oh yes this life, changes like the weather, From the dawn to the nights,  each day, grow tougher and tougher, Going down the memory line,  there's things we discover, After all, there's more appetite,  cause of the smell and the color. My eyes ran, from one corner to the other, Some think they've won life,  cause of an uncertain lover, Another face I see,  like lightening has struck her, In the rush I see sweet smiles,  of heart broken mothers. Why on Earth, do I even care to bother? ...

The Narrowing Stream...

When it was time, to be in my mother's reach, I would have welcomed the world, with my baby scream, With my mom and dad, I made my safety team, Oh how I longed, to complete all my vaccines, By that time, I've come all the way to my teens. From then to now, I longed to see, Myself on, the highest mountain peaks, My fears ranged, covering my path with steam, This mind haunted the nights, stealing my sleep, Forever I'm stuck, with these daily routines. How on Earth are these things worth it? To trade my joy, to trade my sleep, I scare my heart, in my mind I scream, When it comes to my life, I feel like a machine, Even they do stop, at their highest degrees. I long and long, forever in life's streets, With one in hand, to the next I reach, This is how the world goes, not only for me, This life on Earth is a narrowing stream, And this stream, seems to be based, on our dreams. -Debra R. Like the Appearance of the Breeze...

Picking up all the feelings like pearls of this life, Stitching them all, one at a time, Decorating the heart, with a story that hides, A poet gifts to the world, a beautiful rhyme. She looks up to the, bright blue sky, Searching for, the darkness that hides, She looks into the deep blue seas, Searching for, a place to breathe. She reaches out to the mountain's peak, Proving to the world, no one is weak, She dives deep down into the mighty seas, Proving to the world, swimming is not limited to a stream. She wanders in the dark, with a loud scream, Sweeping away the fear, to find that one light beam, She walks through fire, with a continuous weep, Sweeping away the pain, to find the water leak. She rhymes them all, and you may read, The stories that hide, it's too deep, You can never find, it's like the breeze, We feel it right, but her appearance we'll never see. -Debra R. N. Ludwick-

To My Destiny...

Things have to start, Things have to end, You'll have to laugh, You'll have to bend. The nights may be long, When snow covers the fence, But you'll find a way to be warm, It can be through fire, don't forget. In the play of life, We continue to pretend, With the help of lies, Keep in mind, we must repent. When the days are long, And the leaves cover the fence, The grass looks like straw, That's alright, nature will color it again. From the oceans deep, To mountain tops and ends, The paths we crawl, are tricky my friend, Where ever I go, I know, To my destiny, is where this life directs.  -Debra R. N. Ludwick-

My God Is Great...

With the news I get, from across the seas, I tell my God "Oh he's too sweet", They say you are, just like me, Leaving all aside, I wonder how can that be. Seated outside, to stare at the trees, I remember we watched, the birds and the bees, Oh, how we ran, we defeated the breeze, I felt like a baby, I felt so free. I'll never forget, how you cried with me, I do remember, your favorite color is green, Please come back and stay with me, Time spent with you, is like a daydream. All of a sudden, my mind triggered, To the days, I continuously told my mother, I prayed to God one day after the other, My faith always said, I'll have a brother. With laughs and cries, this time went by, But for what I prayed, I never left a sigh, Hiding the paper, deep inside my mind, I drew the image, of the dear brother of mine. Like Adam was put to sleep that day, The art of mine was covered by hay, Until the sun's brightest ...
